Parklands Lodge resident featured in Liverpool Echo

103-year-old Wilf Cockbain recently made headlines following an interview that took place at Parklands Lodge.

Wanting to find out more about Wilf, who was born during World War I, the Liverpool Echo visited the lodge to chat to one of Athena Healthcare Group’s oldest residents who shared stories of his life while telling the newspaper how he keeps up to the date with the latest technology through the use of his iPhone and iPad daily!

“Rooms are spotless and very comfortable. Lounge beautifully furnished, roomy, light. Food exceptional, freshly made, good choice of menu.Visitors can pre-order meals to have with residents. Visitors kitchen a bonus. Sunny aspect garden, relaxing. Manager fabulous. Nothing too much trouble, always time for chat- from a nursing profession he understands all aspects of nursing care. Staff friendly, caring, exceptional. Daily care received is excellent. Treated promptly, kindly and with respect at all times promoting independence. All staff work really hard, very dedicated and attentive. There is no place like home but this is second best! Always feel dad is well cared for and in a safe environment. This really gives us great comfort knowing he is receiving the very best care. We have looked at many nursing homes in the past for a relative and can honestly say that this seems to be the best in Southport. I would not hesitate to recommend Parkland Lodge to anyone. Keep up the good work! You are very much appreciated.”
